Yard Work Before and Afters

So, we live in an 80's colonial and the landscaping showed it.  I referred to our boxwoods as the Great Wall of China.  Last summer, I hacked the boxwoods back off the sidewalk.  Note the maple tree sapling that was trying to take over our beautiful (insert sarcasm) lantern.
Here is the before:

Afters!

In the picture above, you can see how we cut the boxwoods back more and planted Encore azaleas in front.  We also added the bed to the right of the sidewalk and all the plants to the right (crape myrtle, blue fescue, some purple things, some kind of succulent, and miniature gardenias)

Help!  This is what almost half of our gardenias look like (yes that is a bush).  Any tips?

Believe it or not we planted at the same time.  I think mine need more sun... agree?  Hopefully this weekend we'll get them moved out front.  It doesn't help that we live in the woods and 80% of our yard is shaded.  Oh, well.

On Board!

So, I broke down and now I have a blog.  We'll see how this goes... bear with me as I figure this out.
